Maud Vanhauwaert writes, creates and teaches at Conservatory of Antwerp. She received the Vrouw Debuut Prize for her poetry debut Ik ben mogelijk (2011, Querido Publishers) and the Hughues C. Pernath Prize and the Audience Prize of the Herman De Coninck competition for her collection Wij zijn evenwijdig_ (2014, Querido). She was appointed honorary citizen of the city of Veurne and was city poet of Antwerp from 2018 to 2019. In 2020, Het stad in mij (Das Mag) was published, which was awarded the Jan Campert Prize 2020. In 2023, Tosca, her debut novel, has been published by Das Mag.
