Should it last 45 minutes or two hours? Do you engage in a close reading of the excerpts, or do you ask about the author’s latest read, their favorite coffee, or their writing routine? Are biographical questions about the text allowed? Is audience participation essential? In short: How do you conduct a successful conversation on stage? Following an introduction by Professor and author Merve Emre on the topic of “The Critic as a friendly Host,” she will join René Aguigah and Kais Harrabi in a conversation about what makes for a successful discussion on stage.
